![]() POP3 Connector / POP3 Gateway for Microsoft Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2000 with Anti-Spam Filter and Anti-Virus ProtectionThe PYTHEAS MailGate Configuration Wizard knows about Microsoft Exchange 2000 or Exchange 2003 server; we hope that it will successfully guide you through the basic configuration issues. The SMTP addresses for Users declared in Active DirectoryWhen setting up Microsoft Exchange 2000 or Exchange 2003 with PYTHEAS MailGate, you may need to give new SMTP addresses to the Users declared in the Active Directory. Each User's Default SMTP Address in Active Directory should match the Internet SMTP address of his/her POP3 mailbox. If you need to make changes, we recommend not to delete or modify the existing SMTP addresses, but to add new SMTP addresses to match the requirement. Declare the new SMTP address as Default SMTP Address in Active Directory, and as the SMTP address in the Recipient definitions in PYTHEAS MailGate. The idea is to keep an SMTP address for the default Active Directory domain. If you have more than one Microsoft Exchange 2000 or Exchange 2003 server...If you have more than one Microsoft Exchange 2000 or Exchange 2003 server in your Routing Group, you will need to make some adjustments to the settings recommended by the PYTHEAS MailGate Configuration Wizard. Mail Exchange between the Microsoft Exchange 2000 or Exchange 2003 serversIf you choose to let PYTHEAS MailGate take care of outgoing mail, and it has been installed on one of your Microsoft Exchange 2000 or Exchange 2003 servers, you configured - according to the recommendation of the Configuration Wizard - the Default Virtual SMTP Server to make outgoing SMTP connections to 2500. This breaks mail transfer between the Microsoft Exchange servers in the Routing Group: the other servers expect this to happen on port 25, as usual. To correct the problem: On the other server (the server, on which PYTHEAS MailGate is not installed), open les property pages of the Default Virtual SMTP Server. On the General Tab, Advanced..., add the TCP port 2500 for all unassigned addresses. Note: You can also do this only for the IP address which are useful for communication between the servers. Outgoing Internet mail from the other Microsoft Exchange 2000 or Exchange 2003 serversTo route outgoing Internet mail from the other Microsoft Exchange 2000 or Exchange 2003 servers, you need to create a SMTP Connector on the Microsoft Exchange 2000 or Exchange 2003 server with PYTHEAS MailGate installed: In the Routing Group, create a SMTP Connector:
On the Default Virtual SMTP Server property pages, Delivery tab, Advanced..., clear the Smart Host field. |
